Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections (STDI)
A subject we tend to dance around but can be life or death. We want to talk about this subject as a health tip because our motto is " If you live right you will eat right. " Many of us are not living right to eat right.
Let's talk real, CDC estimates that there are more than one million people living with HIV in the United States. The latest NAACP statistics state 72 African Americans are infected every day with HIV this is a problem. Our job is to provide information here we go:
STDIs are spread through sexual contact. Your risk increases with the number of sex partners. Practicing safe sex can prevent most STDIs. Most STDIs can be treated successfully if they are found early.
The most common STDIs:
- Genital herpes
- AIDS/HIV
- Gonorrhea
- Genital Warts
- Chlamydia
- Syphilis
- Abstinence - Avoid sex
- Be monogamous - Only one person
- Condoms - Use correctly, talk to your partner
- Safer Sex - Alternative practices
