This week is Tai Chi

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a Chinese System of slow meditative physical exercise designed for relaxation and balance and health. 

Tai Chi is a type of low-impact, weight-bearing, and aerobic, yet relaxing exercise. It began as a martial art.
Practiced in a variety of styles, Tai Chi involves slow, gentle movements, deep breathing, and meditation.

The meditation is sometimes called "Moving Meditation."

Tai Chi practiced in the west is thought of as a moving form of yoga and meditation combined.

          

Tai Chi fosters a calm and tranquil mind increasing circulation in the body.

                                           

Tai Chi is a meditative exercise for the body. 

        

What are the Benefits of Tai Chi?
  • Improves the flow of energy  through the body, leading to better wellness;
  • Improves strength, conditioning, coordination, and flexibility;
  • Reduced joint pain and stiffness;
  • Better balance and lower risk of falls;
  • Strengthens muscles;
  • Enhanced sleep;
  • Greater awareness, calmness, and overall sense of well being.
         

The practice of Tai Chi is also know to contribute to being able to stand better, walk, move, and run.


Tai Chi is also known to help manage back and neck pain.

       

Tai Chi is practiced around the world as a healing exercise.


There are no precautions for Tai Chi.
