Distrustful Why?

The Spirit of Distrust

Distrust - A feeling or showing of doubt

We travel throughout the world teaching and promoting health and wellness and it is an awesome feeling to see people encouraged through simple words and demonstrations on how to change.

We do a lot of community drive - bys where we just sit and observe the actions (movement) of a community. We watch interactions "The Hustle", we listen to conversations, and many times we just pray for the healing of that jurisdiction.   During these summer months we are hitting some undeserved communities ( Washington, DC , Baltimore, MD, and Brooklyn, and Bronx, New York) that are heavy with the Spirit of Distrust.  This may sound strange but on a hot/humid day you can smell fear, distrust, anger, hopelessness, shame etc.. It is a sweet, musty, pungent, tart, bitter smell. It is hard to describe but you know what it is.

  • We observed mothers in the grocery stores with their grown children and their children paying for the groceries and other items with a debit card hunched over the credit card machine covering her pin number as she put in the code and holding her pocket book tight to her chest.
  • We observed another mother cursing her children out to her left then cursing her partner out  on the right and searching for money in her " bosom pocket book" breast area.
  • We observed a gentleman beating a woman down the street screaming he knew where she was .
  • We observed the police opposite of us randomly stopping people for questioning.
The spirit of distrust was every where. Today let's trust someone or a system.

Let us know if you have ever smelled, felt, or observed the spirit of distrust.

Live well
