Cigarette Smoking is a Death Sentence


Definition

A Cigarette is a small roll of finely-cut tobacco leaves wrapped in a cylinder of thin paper for smoking.

The Cigarette is ignited at one end and allowed to smoulder, its smoke is inhaled from the other end, which is held in the mouth.

Do you know that every puff a person takes from a Cigarette takes minutes off of their life.

Something to think about research is showing that second hand smoke can cause cancer. Are you a victim or perpretrator of this action?





Tobacco use remains the leading preventable cause of premature death in the United States



Dangers of Cigarette Smoking:

  • Emphysema
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • Increase risks for:
    • Arteries - buildup fat and plaque in arteries
    • Diabetes - increases risk of becoming diabetic
    • Lungs - increases chances if lung cancer
    • Heart - raises blood pressure
    • Amputation - causes blood clots
  • Bronchitis
  • Reduction in lung functioning
  • High risk for
    • Heart attack
    • Lowers supply of oxygen
  • Stroke and brain hemorrhages
  • Infertility and Obstetric
  • Oral Hygiene
    • Bad breathe
    • Loss of taste
    • Dental caries
    • Stained teeth
    • Mouth sores
    • Receding gums
  • Chain smoking
  • Increase risks for health risks for non smokers
