Feet, are you taking care of them

Are you taking care of your Feet? 

Feet are the lower extremity of the vertebrate leg that is in direct contact with the ground in standing or walking



Fungas/Athlete's Foot (Tinea Pedis) - is a common infection of the skin of the foot caused by a fungus. Tinea infections of the skin, nails, or hair caused by fungi; and pedis is the foot. 

Causes of Fungus:
  • Trichophyton mentagrophytes (blisters)
  • Trichonphyton rubrum
  • Damp shoes and socks
  • Person-to person contact
  • Cuts, cracks and sores on the feet
 
Symptoms:
  • Itching and burning between the toes or on the soles
  • Redness
  • Blisters
  • Inflammed skin



What it looks like:
On top of the foot - red patches with scabs
Between the toes - scaly, splitting skin
On the sole of the foot - red skin with scales


Treatments:
  • Anti-fungal creams

  • Keep them dry
