Quick Tip:Butternut Squash

The Butternut Squash

A winter squash that has a sweet nutty taste similar to that of a pumpkin. As the Butternut Squash ripens it becomes sweeter and richer.

Butternut Squash is one of my favorite winter vegetables. Cooking method: Peel a medium to large butternut squash, slice into circles, pour vanilla or regular extra virgin olive oil on a baking pan, lay the circles on the pan, pour olive oil over the squash, sprinkle - cumin (powder & seeds), cinnamon, and nutmeg over the squash. bake until tender (30-45minutes) then put under the broiler until the edges are brown for a crispy taste. After you remove from the broiler lay each piece on a white paper towel to soak up extra olive oil. them serve hot or cold.

Forgive me for not providing exact measurements I am an old school cook I season to taste.

Let us know how this turned out.

Live well
