Spinach

Health Tip Week November 1-5, 2010

In the Eastern region of the country the season is changing from warm to cool and we must begin to take extra care of our bodies (immune system).  Spinach is a great immune booster and helps prevent cold and flu.

Spinach contains choline and inositol that help to prevent atherosclerosis or thickening and hardening of arteries.

Spinach helps maintain your kidneys, bladder and liver.

Benefits of Spinach:
  • Vitamins A, B, C and K (good source)
  • Calcium
  • Carbhydrates
  • Potassium
  • Protein
  • Stabilize blood sugar (diabetics)
  • Flavonoid (antioxidant and anti0cancer agent)
  • Carotenoid

Spinach helps:
  • Anemia
  • Tumors
  • Constipation
  • Insomnia
  • Obesity
  • Neuritis (inflammation of nerves)
  • Bronchitis
  • Colon Cancer
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Breast Cancer
  • Osteoporosis
  • Dyspepsia (chronic indigestion)

I /We (Cor-Les Health Team) eat Spinach every day as a base for our meals. Whatever you eat today put a hand full of fresh raw Spinach on your plate then put your hot food on top. You have just receive extra nutrients.

Remember fresh Spinach should be your first choice but organic frozen (vaccum packed) is also a good choice.

Try this and let us know if you like it. It works as an excellent fiber and stool softener.

Live well
