Sugar, Sugar, and More Sugar

Processed Sugar Is Killing "Us" As A Nation

What is it? Sugar is a crystalline or powered substance, white when pure, consisting of sucrose obtained from sugar cane and sugar beets and used in many foods, drinks, and medicines to improve their taste.



We get in trouble with added sugars. Added sugars are sugars added to our foods and beverages during processing or preparation.


Today begin reading the labels on all of the processed foods you purchase (e.g. bag, box, or can).

The following added sugars are on most food labels: BEWARE ":o(
  • Brown sugar
  • Corn sweetener
  • Corn syrup
  • Dextrose
  • Fructose
  • Fruit juice concentrate
  • Glucose
  • High-fructose corn syrup
  • Honey
  • Invert sugar
  • Lactose
  • Maltose
  • Malt syrup
  • Molasses
  • Raw sugar
  • Sucrose
  • Sugar
  • Syrup
What I have found to be healthier sugar alternatives:
  • Stevia (herb)
  • Xylitol (birch wood extracts)
  • Agave (organic blue or almond flavored)


Start today a healthier lifestyle without the added sugars. Refrain from eating the added sugars on the list. Remember fresh  fruits and vegetables first then frozen (without added sugar).
