Phlegm (Flem), Mucus Can be a Day Stopper if Not Controlled

Good day Cor-Les Community, we are in the Cold/Flu Season and every day someone is coughing, snorting, and spitting up Phlegm (Flem). One of my little brothers in ministry ask me about this issue. I hope this helps Alex.

Phlegm (Flem)
                                               
Phlegm (Flem) is a viccous liquid secreted by the mucous membranes sometimes a yellowish/green, rust, or white colored thick, sticky mucus that drips down the back of  your throat.                                    
             Mucus is produce by the respiratory system excluding that from the nasal passages and is expelled by sneezing or coughing (sputum).
Flem or Mucus 


Phlegm in the throat  is called post-nasal drip

The nose can produce a quart of mucus daily

Causes (mucus in the throat and chest):
  • Infection
  • Cold or Flu
  • Seasonal Allergy
  • Smoking
  • Irritants and Pollutants
  • Reaction to foods
  • Environmental factors
  • Milk or milk products:
    • Yogurt
    • Cottage Cheese
    • Butter 
  • Soy
  • Unhealthy Habits
  • Physiological factors
Limit your exposure to:
  • Irritants:
    • Household cleaners
    • Paint fumes
    • Chemicals
    • Cigarette smoke 
Treatments:



Traditional - Over-the-Counter:
  •  Vicks
  •  Day Quil
  •  Ny Quil

Natural Remedies:
  • Eucalyptus oil (put in boiling water)
  • Garlic powder
  • Golden Seal Herb

  • Inhale Steam from boiling water/hot shower
  • Drink 8 glasses of water (to loosen Phlegm and thin mucus)
  • Gargle with salt water (sea salt)
  • Drink hot liquids (tea or broth) 
  • Take vitamin C, E, zinc
  • Honey
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Eat spicy foods:
    • Wasabi
    • Horseradish
    • Hot chili peppers 


Remember information is power please take care of your self during this Cold and Flu Season. Continue to Eat your fruits and vegetables, take your multi vitamin, stay hydrated, get plenty of sleep, and keep a hand sanitizer with you every where you go.

hope this helps you. I had awful bad breath and tonsil stones. Thank god my only friend told me to check Oraltech Labs advice as it got rid of her bad breath and her post nasal drip. I've been following Oraltech Labs advice for about 4 months now and I feel much better, also at work people are not avoiding me anymore so it seems to have cured my bad breath as well, so good luck.
